Raw water event?
The AF9000 Streaming current monitor (SCM) gives WTP operators a fast, safe way to nudge coagulation control setpoint without re-calibrating.
Storms, high colour, algae, rapid turbidity shifts, when raw water moves fast, your coagulant demand does too.
Operators need an easy intervention to keep the plant stable while the event passes.
That’s why AccuFloc AF9000 SCM includes a simple, operator-friendly setpoint offset as standard: at any time, for any reason, the operator can adjust the coagulation control set point up or down; then return to the original calibrated zero once conditions normalise.
Typical use case: a storm/high colour event of raw water is coming through and you’ll need to temporarily increase the dosing set point to maintain your WTP performance.
The AF9000 makes this repeatable because it shows two values on the display screen: the original zero calibration reference - upper display line, and the current offset you’ve applied from that reference on the lower display line.
Quick operator workflow during an event:
· Take a quick photo of the display, this captures your starting reference
(zero + offset). Make sure both upper and lower lines of display are on.
· Use the up/down arrows to apply the required offset and shift the dosing
set point.
· As the event passes, step the offset back down (in one move or
progressively) until you’re back at the original calibrated zero reference.
For operators, it’s a practical way to use your experience and respond quickly.
For managers, it supports consistent operation across shifts, because the plant can be brought back to the known calibrated reference without running a full re-calibration of your Streaming current measurement instrument.
Once raw water conditions are back to normal, simply return the offset to the original zero reference, without having to immediately repeat a full calibration (e.g. jar testing) just to unwind temporary event driven changes.
This simple offset approach is designed to make “event mode” adjustments fast, traceable, and easy to reverse, so the AF9000 stays aligned to your established process target.
If you’re managing coagulation control through frequent raw water upsets, this is one of those small operator features that can make a big difference in day-to-day stability.
