SCM Calibration Tip: Don’t forget to Zero and Span
For water treatment plant operators, Streaming Current Monitors are only useful when the readings are reliable and trusted.
That’s why regular Zero and Span calibration is important.
A good rule of thumb is to check the calibration quarterly, or as required by your plant procedures.
For the AccuFloc AF9000, the process is designed to be quick and easy:
1. Run a jar test and determine the ideal coagulant dose
2. Manually set the plant to that ideal dose rate
3. Allow the process to stabilise for approximately 15 minutes
4. Press and hold the AF9000 Zero button for 3 seconds
5. The instrument automatically sets both Zero and Span
The result is a calibration process operators can understand, repeat and complete with confidence.
If calibration on your SCM feels more complicated than it should, it may be worth taking a closer look at the AccuFloc AF9000.
